Dawn Brancheau was a former trainer at SeaWorld Orlando who trained and performed with orcas. She worked closely with Tilikum, who turned out to be her killer. Dawn was loved by her husband Scott Brancheau, her family, friends and colleagues. She had a passion for these animals. On Feb 24,2010 was the day she was attacked and killed during a shamu show called, “Dine in Shamu”. The star of the show was Tilikum during the performance he became aggressive towards her. Nobody really knows what might have triggered him to attack her. There is two sides to the story one that she was pulled by her ponytail and dragged into the pool. The other one was she was pulled by her arm then dragged in the pool. Her cause of death “SeaWorld's killer whale Tilikum broke its trainer's jaw, fractured part of her vertebra and dislocated one of her elbows and a knee while thrashing her around its pool, according to an autopsy released today(Mooney).”
